Description:
In this video, Shaykh ul Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri explains the background of the opening verses of Surah As-Saffat. He states that the greatest obstacles in the path of religion are the nafs (inner self), Satan, and society and these three fronts are what weaken a person the most in today’s era. He further describes, in a very impactful manner, how the attitude of the disbelievers of Makkah, the role of Abu Talib (A.S), the Prophet’s ﷺ mission, and the severe challenges of that time are directly relevant to the circumstances we face today. He also emphasizes that serving the religion is not merely an act of virtue, but a struggle that requires patience, steadfastness, and sacrifice. It is further highlighted that today our society has drifted far from religion. People may not be disbelievers, yet the mindset, habits, and mentality of disbelievers have infiltrated our homes. We may practice religion within our houses, but unless the society at large follows the path of faith, future generations cannot remain protected. Through the example of Bani Israel, it is made clear that salvation is for those who strive to establish religion in society individual practice alone is not enough.
